Going by the demonstrations around the world against the air strikes by Israel on Gaza Strip people like you and me may get carried away by the number of casualties but the fact of the matter is that Israel has been on the receiving end ever since the cease fire agreement lapsed a few weeks ago. Even before the ceasefire ended Hamas routinely fired rockets into Israel. Hamas, as we all know,

The latest series of attacks on Gaza Strip is their reply to Hamas who has been routinely attacking innocents in Israel for the last few months. They don’t take crap from anyone. They do what is good for them. The world opinion be damned. In fact, as far as current strikes are concerned, all that US has said is ‘avoid civilian casualties’.

I am second-time mother of a not yet 4-month old. Now my baby has some kind of routine which allows me time to think about myself among other things. And believe me this ‘ME TIME” is something I was longing for a long long time. I have always been a fitness freak and more so now after two babies through c-section. So the first thing on my mind is getting back into shape and more so into my old jeans without holding my breath. Ya, that’s a trick which works if you put on a few pounds……

It just doesn’t make sense. Unless, off course, if the relationship between Pak army and Pak Taliban is not of enemies but of friends, in which case the whole thing of Pakistan being ally in ‘war on terror’ becomes a farce. So who is fooling whom here?

Yeah, we celebrate festivals of all religions. And that’s because you don’t just have to be a Christian to celebrate Christmas. You basically have to be a good human being who respects every religion, while practicing any one of them. I also believe that if I sincerely pray for something Santa Claus will surely listen to me.

I thought something like this happened in Third World countries and not in a country like America. I was wrong. People are the same everywhere. It’s just a question of who gets an opportunity and who doesn’t.

To say that ISI is responsible for the terrorist activities in India would be like missing the point completely. Also, to state that these are ‘non state actors’ who are involved would be an even bigger folly. The truth is that it is the state which is using these agencies and individuals to further it’s own political agenda of ‘bleeding India through a thousand cuts’.

People should not speak when they don’t have to. Unfortunately, AR Antulay did and now he’s made to look like an absolute fool by his own party. It was bound to happen. When you are a minister in the govt you can’t shoot your mouth off the way he did when he claimed that there was a doubt in the way Hemant Karkare died.

The ’shoe throw’ on George Bush during his visit to Iraq was not just a shoe throw. It was a ’symbol’ more than anything else. It was a symbol of contempt with which the Americans are held in the Muslim world, especially in the Middle East. I’m not an enemy of America. In fact I appreciate the free spirit of the American system. But on this issue I feel that America has blundered and blundered big time.

I’m angry. Terribly angry. And that’s because Manish has quite conveniently gone to Austria and Switzerland alone for TWO WEEKS. He says that it’s an official tour. Moreover, since we are yet to get a passport made for Aleena it would not be possible for any of us to go. I just don’t like this. This is not the first time that he has done this to us.

I really wonder on what grounds are Lalus and Mulayams protesting against the Women's Bill. Their argument, is unconvincing and shaky. Even ideally, if for a moment, we think that poor Dalit women were to be indeed elected I'd damned if our highest governing bodies were to be made up of women who are absolutely illiterate and work as maids or do some such menial jobs. I really do not have anything against them but they do not have the aptitude or ability for this job, not as of now at least. As for my maid, I'm thankful to God if she completes my household chores satisfactorily, leave aside managing the country. .....
