Having bought the team for 88 million euros and working on a shoe string budget in these difficult times it must have been really very heartening for Vijay Mallya to see Fisichella on the podium and his team emerge with 8 points. What you guys need to understand and appreciate is the fact that Kimi Raikonnen who came first was driving a technically superior Ferrari car. Despite this handicap Giancarlo Fisichella gave Raikonnen a run for his money. All throughout the race Fisi was breathing down hard on Kimi Raikonnen. Just that that Kimi didn’t falter even once after taking the lead.

Mansie, as you all may be aware by now, lives in a world of her own. In that world she is the Princess who can do no wrong and is actually the numero uno. Her word is the last word and lesser mortals like me, Manish, Aleena and her friends are all her subjects. Yeah, we give her this freedom up to a point. We play along in this charade with her to make her feel good though we keep it within limits. Fortunately for us, her teachers are not in that domain much to the dismay of our Princess.

Yes, this is a political obituary to LK Advani. His political career is all but over. Just that that he is yet to announce it. After what we saw on TV yesterday and today it is a foregone conclusion. He stands discredited and exposed as a man who has lied to the nation about the hijacking of IC 814 to Kandahar. And now he has no option but to resign not only from his post as leader of opposition in Lok Sabha but from his parliamentary constituency as well.

Tell you what? It is just fine with me that we were partitioned because I’m not so sure whether we would have remained as one nation even for a few years more after 1947. We would have encountered resistance from Balochis, SIndhis, section of Punjabis, may be even Bengalis, Tamils or Kannadigas and God only knows who all. And take it from me there would have been many more riots between various religious and regional groups.

Firstly, the judges of Supreme Court are already declaring their assets to CJI. The judges of High Court can also do the same. If the CJI is satisfied with this arrangement, asking for these details to be available to public in general is like saying that CJI is not doing his job. Also, what do you do after getting the details? Should a judge be answering everyone how he has got the wealth that he has declared? Imagine a judge inquiring into allegations of disproportionate wealth case of a bureaucrat. In the course of the proceedings, what if the litigant asks the judge, ‘how did you obtain your wealth, before asking me to explain my riches?’

It is rather ironic that today’s Times of India carries an article on what is called ‘The Lotus Effect’. According to this article the Lotus plant produces wax on it’s leaves because of which water and dirt particles glide off it’s surface making the plant clean. Symbolically, BJP may seem to indicate that Jaswant Singh’s expulsion may have left it a bit more clean than what it was though I may not agree with this entirely. Now whether Jaswant Singh represents a dirt particle or water is for anyone to guess, although BJP treated him as dirt.

It has now come to light that al-Megrahi’s release had a lot to do with the Libyan oil which Britain is keen on and this has been said by none other than Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam Gaddafi who negotiated his release. Off course, Britain has denied it but I’m sure we are all mature enough not to believe in this denial. There is no doubt that it had a lot to do with the Libyan oil. And may be that’s all there is to it.

Had Jaswant Singh published this book before the elections would BJP have reacted in a similar manner? Well, that’s one good question, wouldn’t you say? Actually, I don’t think they would have done this had that been the case. They may well have endorsed it by saying that this was an extension of Advani’s views. Remember, it was the time when Varun Gandhi’s hateful speech and in turn BJP was being deplored all over the country and this book may just have helped BJP in some ways. Poor Jaswant Singh! The timing of his book has been horribly wrong.

Darwin was so bloody right. His theory of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST still holds so true. And I don’t mean we as human race need to be fittest amongst the other species. I mean we as individuals within the human race need to be fitter to survive. Be it the corporate world or domestic day to day survival, our survival depends on who is fit and who is not. To the extent that the unfit lot may not just end up being sidelined but may actually die. I know you guys will say that this is like taking things to an extreme. But believe you me it is not an extreme anymore.

Oh my god! They arrested SRK? Sorry, not arrested but detained SRK for two long hours? Holy mother of Christ! How dare they? Who the hell do they think they are? We’ll make them pay for this. We’ll sort them out. We’ll launch our missiles on their Newark airport which had the audacity of being the place where SRK was detained for two long hours. Well, tell you what? Please relax. They did nothing wrong. It’s SRK and the Indian media who is blowing things out of proportion. US damn well has a right to detain SRK or any other foreigner for that matter if there is reason to suspect him. And in this case there was.

I really wonder on what grounds are Lalus and Mulayams protesting against the Women's Bill. Their argument, is unconvincing and shaky. Even ideally, if for a moment, we think that poor Dalit women were to be indeed elected I'd damned if our highest governing bodies were to be made up of women who are absolutely illiterate and work as maids or do some such menial jobs. I really do not have anything against them but they do not have the aptitude or ability for this job, not as of now at least. As for my maid, I'm thankful to God if she completes my household chores satisfactorily, leave aside managing the country. .....
