Lankan cricketers attacked: Pakistan slipping into chaos

March 3rd, 2009
What a shame!!

What a shame!!

The attack on Lankan players in Lahore has once again demonstrated how vulnerable Pakistan is at the moment. It clearly shows that terrorists have the ability to strike anywhere in the country. And they are doing it. The security forces in Pakistan are only mute spectators to the country slipping into chaos. I’m not sure how much they want to prevent this. I would’ve guessed that for an event of this importance the security would be as tight as it should be but apparently it was not. The attack was so brazen that it was captured by cameramen who had gone there to cover the cricket match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The picture above is a proof of this. For more details of the case check out the report of CNN below.

Well, like I said earlier in my post Pakistan’s deal with terrorists is justified the security forces just don’t have the strength to contain the terrorists, leave aside neutralizing them. Everyday it is becoming more and more obvious where Pakistan is heading. There is no doubt that there are people within the security forces who want these terrorists to seize power but on the whole this is more due to their inherent inability to contain them than anything else. The situation in the country is crying out for an international force which can deal with this. Just that that Pakis cannot admit it. Unfortunately, no one is listening.

I'm not so sure if what u r saying is correct. I feel pakis can take care of their country if they want to. It's a conspiracy by their army to create such a situation so that they seize power once again.

Okay, of all the TV networks which one was the best debate on match fixing? Well, for me it was the one on Times Now where our dear old Bishen Singh Bedi appeared half drunk. At first it seemed like I was mistaken but when he started talking I was more than convinced that he was indeed three or four drinks down, at least. A couple of drinks more and I'm sure Bedi would've told Arnab Goswami," Oye, Chadd Yaar. Tainu Kee? Aye koi nai gall thodi hai. Salon se ho raya hega. CHEERS!!" or words to that effect. But you can't really blame Bedi for this. What do you expect people to be doing at nine in the evening? Good people work through the day and party in the evenings. Don't they? For that matter, Farouq Engineer who was speaking from Manchester, UK where it was around four thirty in the evening, was seen having a huge cup of coffee (or at least that's my guess) because you are supposed to have coffee at that time......
