People managing AIFA have to be either absolutely naive or heartless or quite possibly both to hold their award ceremony in Colombo at this point of time when Tamils in India are really pissed off with Rajapakse and his govt for the atrocities they have committed on Tamil minorities and their unofficial policy of treating them as second rate citizens. To say the very least, it is highly inappropriate of the film industry to do this. From what we can make out this decision was taken without any forethought or vision.

I was not planning to write this today as I was busy working on an article on BJP and it’s future but I happened to check the webpage of Hindustan Times and was shocked to read that Abhishek was sidelined by Shiela Dixit’s govt in Delhi for the Earth Hour function last evening at Rajpath and was asked not to come. Now Abhishek was appointed the brand ambassador for Earth Day by World Wildlife Federation and has been involved in this campaign for some time now. His name was being splashed all over with promos and what have you but he was unceremoniously dropped at the last moment. No prizes for guessing who is responsible for this.

Fact is that there indeed seems to be a concerted effort from many western quarters to shape people’s opinion here in India as far as 26/11 is concerned. And Indian Express and Times of India seem to be working on their agenda. Remember the article by Pierre Lavalle published in Times of India on 22nd Nov 09 which I spoke of in the post titled Pardon 26/11? Is there some kind of a coordinated campaign going on by these people or is it because of a exchange of money and favors? I can’t say for now but if we keep seeing these kind of write ups you and I will know for sure.

Well, all I can say is that the current faceoff between these two dates back to a about a year or so when SRK was being compared to Big B. Though they did act in a couple of movies together they did not become the best of friends, to put it mildly. And then Amitabh committed one of the biggest blunders by not calling SRK for Abhishek’s wedding.
