The importance of pigeons in my life cannot be overstated. They form an integral part of my life these days. If they are not there my life and in turn my house is in a complete mess. And they’ve been missing for the last week or so. Because of this I became rather irritable and Mansie and Manish had to bear most of the brunt. You would not believe this but even the quality of food that I made was affected. I tried to explain to Manish that the food was overcooked or undercooked because of the pigeons not being there but he was like- ARE YOU CRAZY? What the hell has the quality of food got to do with pigeons, given that they themselves are not the food? Well, I just told him to relax. I know he will never understand. Men, I tell you!!!!!

While I have been busy running after Aleena to give me a decent snap of hers, I went over my hubby’s statement that “her face will change as she grows”. Though I understand that her face has definitely changed, but since I’m with her all the time, so it’s pretty difficult for me to pinpoint the changes which have taken place in her looks.

Mansie, as you all may be aware by now, lives in a world of her own. In that world she is the Princess who can do no wrong and is actually the numero uno. Her word is the last word and lesser mortals like me, Manish, Aleena and her friends are all her subjects. Yeah, we give her this freedom up to a point. We play along in this charade with her to make her feel good though we keep it within limits. Fortunately for us, her teachers are not in that domain much to the dismay of our Princess.

Yeah, It’s two feet now. That’s because Aleena can now reach only upto two feet. Therefore most (Please note it’s most of the things, not all) of the things in my house are above that height. Because if they are not they would be chewed, thrown on the floor and may be broken, in that order. And this will all depend upon the taste and texture of the object. If a bottle of moisturizer is lying on the floor it means the bottle tastes lousy. On the other hand if a book or magazine is in tatters and has been chewed beyond recognition it’s because the paper of the magazine is of good quality and tastes good.

It’s February and so the most important thing going on in our lives at the moment are Mansie’s exams. Yeah, she’s just in the IInd grade but so what? Exams are exams. IInd grade or graduation. You have to prepare for it. More so when your child thinks she knows everything whereas she doesn’t.

This is the story of Alfie Patten, a 13 year old boy in UK (although he looks more like an 8 year old). He’s like any other 13 year old but just that that he’s dad too. The mum is a 15 year old girl Chantelle Steadman. When asked about this the boy said that he thought ‘it would be good to have a baby’. Good to have a baby when you yourself are just 13? What kind of a 13 year old says that? What kind of parents allow this sort of behavior? And just how did all this happen in the first place?

WOW!!!! My li’l girl can SIT……even if only for half a minute. But that’s some progress, going by her age. And she is just turned 5months. After the fourth month people in my colony and in my family had really got me worried, questioning me umpteen times…why was she not sitting already? I hope everything is okay and some such stuff. I know, every baby has its own milestones at each month and growth of no two babies is the same. Yet as a mother these queries do leave you a bit uncomfortable.

I have half a mind of giving out the name of this school but Mansie is still studying there and it would be pretty unfair to her. So I’ll refrain myself from doing that, at least till this session gets over in March09 when I plan to shift Mansie to another good school. I know it’ll involve a whole lot of running around all over again. But there’s no option.

Out of hundreds of allegations of fake encounter deaths why is the focus of our entire nation on Sohrabuddin and Amit Shah? Is it because a fake encounter of a Muslim is a different story than that of a Hindu? And that too because it happened in Narendra Modi's Gujarat? Why is the CBI investigating only this case and not so many others where the guilty are quite likely from the Congress party? What about numerous allegations of fake encounters in Andhra Pradesh? What about the prosecution of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar in Sikh riots case? What about Ottavio Quattrochi?.....
