Twenty ten sounds so much better than two thousand and nine. Thank god for small mercies. But while all the newspapers and television channels gloss over the year gone by very few have spoken about the challenges that lie ahead of us. Apart from recapitulating the happenings of 2009 I feel it would be in order to take stock of things as they are today and prepare ourselves for the challenges that face the world. Let’s check out the three major issues one by one.

Yes, Obama will fail in Iran. There is no doubt about this. And that too for no fault of his. It’s just that that he has become the President at the wrong time. Iran is too far ahead in it’s nuclear program to consider stopping it now.

I don’t understand numbers. No I don’t. But I do have some common sense which tells me that our interim Finance Minister has given us nothing in this budget. He says that the UPA did not have the mandate to do so. But tell me Mr Mukherjee, isn’t your govt going to be in office for next three to four months more?

Guys, on the economic front things are really bad in the US. It has become an everyday story that someone or the other has shot himself and his family because they have been thrown out of their jobs. Everyday I keep reading about some company or the other announcing job cuts to the tune of thousands of personnel. Just yesterday I read a report which said that America has lost nearly 4 million jobs in 2008 and will lose even more in 2009. Gawd!

Republican Party seems to be falling apart. Their campaign is in absolute disarray. Even the die hard Republicans like Colin Powell have switched sides.

I don’t know but is there a provision for him to change his running mate? Can he do that? In case there is, I feel making amends right now would be much better than going ahead with Palin. In my opinion he’ll only improve his chances by replacing Palin with a White Caucasian Male who is much younger and more qualified than Palin, preferably an economist.

Well that’s a valid question. Isn’t it? Everyone seems to be worried about the stock market which keeps making new lows every day. And all this while finance minister P Chidambaram and Montek Singh Ahluwalia have been saying that there is nothing to worry and our financials were sound. So what happened?

Yes, Obama won the debate because McCain did not win. That’s correct. McCain needed to win this one but he did not.

In a historic moment the Senate passed the Indo-US nuke deal with a bipartisan support. Truly incredible. Bush’s popularity may be in the dumps in the US but in India people can’t stop praising him and Condi Rice. In fact to the extent that he can actually contest in the general elections which are [...]

And dangerous too. Every step from hereon is fraught with danger. And whatever is dangerous is exciting too. Exciting? You might say that I’m drawing pleasure and excitement of other’s plight but no, I’m not drawing any pleasure or making fun of anyone. I’m just trying to live this one the way the [...]

Out of hundreds of allegations of fake encounter deaths why is the focus of our entire nation on Sohrabuddin and Amit Shah? Is it because a fake encounter of a Muslim is a different story than that of a Hindu? And that too because it happened in Narendra Modi's Gujarat? Why is the CBI investigating only this case and not so many others where the guilty are quite likely from the Congress party? What about numerous allegations of fake encounters in Andhra Pradesh? What about the prosecution of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar in Sikh riots case? What about Ottavio Quattrochi?.....
