We are suffering at the hands of the law which has given sacred powers to the police which misuses it in abundance. I believe that about 70% – 80% of the time, police misuses its powers as vested by the constitution and common man has to suffer. For instance I recall the shameful incidence of Delhi Police when they framed a mason (to take revenge) in 18 different cases out of which one was of ‘rape’. After a battle of around 15 years he was cleared of 13 cases and Delhi High Court felt the need to rescue and provide some sort of relief to the aggrieved. Hon’ble Dr. Justice S. Murlidhar awarded a compensation of Rs. 6 Lacs (approx.) for the trauma and torture the mason had gone through. But I feel this was not enough. Damages were paid off in civil nature but what about the criminal damages like jail term of 6 years and mental trauma and physical assault? In my view such police officers ought to have been punished with imprisonment of at least 6 months each, whoever was involved including DCP who challenged the acquittal of the poor mason and even went to an extent of firing & flaunting his position to the lower court judge who exonerated the mason.

You must’ve read about the arrest of two CRPF jawans in UP for selling ammunition to Naxals recently. They say that they’ve arrested these two alongwith four others which includes one retd sub inspector also. Frankly, the way the authorities are going about this it seems that either this is a big cover up to shield some officials or they don’t know what the hell is going on. I’d like to believe the former. Read on and you’ll see what I mean.

We all know that Ketan Desai, President of Medical Council of India, has indeed been arrested for corruption. What most of us don’t really know is the amount of recovery made by authorities so far from him. Hold your breath folks. The amount recovered from him is Rs 1800 crore in cash and 1500 kgs of gold. HOLY CRAP!!!! 1800 CRORES and 1500 KGS OF GOLD!!! You can imagine the scale of corruption perpetrated by Ketan Desai. While all our news channels got besotted with Lalit Modi for allegedly having accepted 80 million dollars ie roughly Rs 350 crores but it pales in comparison to what this guy has made, and still no one feels like talking about it!!.

Media has gone berserk over Modi and IPL. All the other important happenings are being kind of just glossed over. Be it the ash cloud over Europe or the Jessica Lall verdict or even the elections in Britain. In fact I would go to the extent of saying that Lalit Modi is actually holding the entire country’s attention to ransom. But tell you what? I too am guilty of the same offence. I have also been devoting too much time on the muck within IPL and BCCI and the matches as well. Three stupid long posts on IPL!!! I must be going nuts here. I admit that I got carried away by the media blitz. But not anymore. There are a lot of things happening which need to be written and talked about. And I need to refocus on those important happenings. One of them has been the Jessica Lall murder verdict, which was a major issue till the Modi saga captured our respective imaginations. We need to talk about this and related issues which are of paramount importance for any healthy society.

On the face of it there may be a lot of people who may say that it is time for us to move on and let bygones be bygones. After all she didn’t really kill Rajiv Gandhi herself. She was just the back up. Also, for her sins she has already spent 18 years in prison so far. Moreover, she’s a mother now. Even Gandhi family has effectively forgiven her for her sins. It’s said that when Priyanka Gandhi met her in prison in Mar 08 they even exchanged gifts and notes on their respective kids. And therefore there may not be any valid reason for her to continue to be held in jail anymore. But tell you what? That would be a big mistake, if you ask me.

I told those guys at F bar as well as at LAP bar “Jannte nahin mera baap kaun hai?” (Meaniing- don’t you know who my pop is?) But I’m sorry to say papa that they didn’t. They didn’t know you at all. What the hell papa? You haven’t yet made a name for yourself? Even though you managed to get Mr Hooda the required votes for his Chief Ministership but still nobody knows you. And what use is such closeness if you can’t use it for your own son? Look at me. Everyone knows me even if it’s only because I’m a killer. But they all know me just the same.

Anand Jon’s sister is lobbying hard with the Indian govt so that they may somehow intervene in this whole thing and influence the American govt in giving some relief to her brother. But tell you what? I seriously don’t think that our govt should intervene at all, despite the fact that Anand may have been a victim of racism.

This guy has been jailed for twenty years for writing articles against the Sri Lankan govt! I mean I thought we lived in a civilized world. And in a civilized world these kind of things don’t happen. People have rights and are treated fairly in such places. But I guess Sri Lanka is yet to reach there. According to them writing articles espousing rights of Tamils is as good as sedition and terrorism. Actually, the trial of this gentleman smacked of arrogance and vindictiveness on the part of the govt. What a god damned state of affairs!

Do you know when did Asif Ali Zardari start shitting bricks? When someone sent him an SMS which said- Benazir Bhutto is alive. Yeah, that’s a joke but guess what? You can be jailed for upto 14 years and your property could be attached if you pass on this joke in Pakistan. They have now banned such ‘innocent’ jokes about political leadership of the country (Read Zardari) under Cyber Crimes Act. Yeah, joking is now a crime in Pakistan. Not just this they say that the govt would seek assistance of INTERPOL for deportation of foreign offenders too. Oh my god!!!!! It means they may start legal proceedings against me as well.

Hello Sheetal, How are you? Yes, I know you are in trouble. My heartfelt sympathies to you. I hope you had a reasonably decent time while you were being interrogated. I hope there were no mosquitoes there and the AC was working. And I hope the cops treated you well.

Okay, of all the TV networks which one was the best debate on match fixing? Well, for me it was the one on Times Now where our dear old Bishen Singh Bedi appeared half drunk. At first it seemed like I was mistaken but when he started talking I was more than convinced that he was indeed three or four drinks down, at least. A couple of drinks more and I'm sure Bedi would've told Arnab Goswami," Oye, Chadd Yaar. Tainu Kee? Aye koi nai gall thodi hai. Salon se ho raya hega. CHEERS!!" or words to that effect. But you can't really blame Bedi for this. What do you expect people to be doing at nine in the evening? Good people work through the day and party in the evenings. Don't they? For that matter, Farouq Engineer who was speaking from Manchester, UK where it was around four thirty in the evening, was seen having a huge cup of coffee (or at least that's my guess) because you are supposed to have coffee at that time......
