Crush Tamils

This guy has been jailed for twenty years for writing articles against the Sri Lankan govt! I mean I thought we lived in a civilized world. And in a civilized world these kind of things don’t happen. People have rights and are treated fairly in such places. But I guess Sri Lanka is yet to reach there. According to them writing articles espousing rights of Tamils is as good as sedition and terrorism. Actually, the trial of this gentleman smacked of arrogance and vindictiveness on the part of the govt. What a god damned state of affairs!

Is this the new beginning?

To some people this visit was just a means of achieving the freedom of the two journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee from N Korea but it is much more than just that. The official line from Washington may well be that it was a personal visit but I’ll be damned if Obama personally did not endorse if not authorize it. Anyone who feels otherwise is just being naive. Just as well, the visit has achieved what may be called as the ‘turning point’ in the strained relationship which these two countries have shared in the past. I know I’m being premature in my judgement here but be that as it may I feel very strongly about this. And US would be rather foolish not to capitalize on this. Remember the ‘unclench your fist’ remark by Obama?

BJP: What next?

Out of hundreds of allegations of fake encounter deaths why is the focus of our entire nation on Sohrabuddin and Amit Shah? Is it because a fake encounter of a Muslim is a different story than that of a Hindu? And that too because it happened in Narendra Modi's Gujarat? Why is the CBI investigating only this case and not so many others where the guilty are quite likely from the Congress party? What about numerous allegations of fake encounters in Andhra Pradesh? What about the prosecution of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar in Sikh riots case? What about Ottavio Quattrochi?.....
