To begin with let us first appreciate one basic fact which is of paramount importance in our country, and that is that we still have to learn how to care for lives of each and every Indian citizen. Unlike the western nations who have made this aspect as the most important issue for themselves we are yet to do so. For our authorities, particularly the police, the life of an ordinary citizen is so cheap because of which the citizen too in turn cares two hoots about the country and it’s laws. As far as our police is concerned, an ordinary citizen in fact dreads to go to them for redressal of their problems. And that’s because of the attitude of the police which is ridiculous to say the least. Whatever we might say the fact is that it’s got a lot to do with the amount of workload that they have and the pay our police personnel get. As they say- when you give peanuts you only get monkeys.

Darwin was so bloody right. His theory of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST still holds so true. And I don’t mean we as human race need to be fittest amongst the other species. I mean we as individuals within the human race need to be fitter to survive. Be it the corporate world or domestic day to day survival, our survival depends on who is fit and who is not. To the extent that the unfit lot may not just end up being sidelined but may actually die. I know you guys will say that this is like taking things to an extreme. But believe you me it is not an extreme anymore.

Life is an absolute ‘bitch’. A bit more for some and may be a bit less for others. And we all grow up learning how to deal with this ‘bitch’. Some of us are able to tame her while for others life continues to be ‘bitchy’. Rakhi Sawant, it seems has learnt her lessons from this ‘bitch’ all too well. To the extent that she herself now seems to be a ‘bitch’ incarnated.

Last week or so has been rather hectic. I have been going to the hospital quite often in the last two week or so. My co-sister had a baby, so we went to see the baby. A cute and adorable bundle. Worth all the trips. My mom underwent an eye-surgery, after umpteen trips to the hospital. But finally it was done and she is recuperating at my place. She is doing ok and should be fine by the end of this week.

During all these trips we came to know that one of my hubby’s colleague’s wife was also admitted with hepatitis. She was there for about a month or so and this weekend she passed away leaving behind

Her name is Eluana Englaro, She’s a 37 year old Italian woman although in this photograph she’s a young and happy 20 year old. That’s because she could not have smiled at this stage of her life. You see you can’t really smile when you’re in coma. And she’s been in that state for the last 17 years. Moreover, she’s dead now.

I’m weeping today, literally. I’m weeping because our polity can still not come together to fight this monster. I’m weeping because I know our leaders will go back to their routine of stupid rhetoric and no action in a few months from now.

Its one of the saddest days of my life. My worst fears have come true. I always suspected this but now we know for sure that there are Hindu terrorists around us who indulge in activities similar to the terrorists belonging to other faiths. I still find it very difficult to believe this.

” A SMILE is a curve that sets everything straight.” And really how true it is. Now all of us are smiling a lot more than before, so is Aleena, though her smile is a little crooked and lop-sided but so endearing.

At last Baitullah Mehsud, the top Taliban commander in Pakistan has died, of all natural causes. The man commanded more than 20,000 militants from across the region. This was a man who once proclaimed to the world that “there would be no peace without jihad” and US and UK were his prime targets. [...]

Out of hundreds of allegations of fake encounter deaths why is the focus of our entire nation on Sohrabuddin and Amit Shah? Is it because a fake encounter of a Muslim is a different story than that of a Hindu? And that too because it happened in Narendra Modi's Gujarat? Why is the CBI investigating only this case and not so many others where the guilty are quite likely from the Congress party? What about numerous allegations of fake encounters in Andhra Pradesh? What about the prosecution of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar in Sikh riots case? What about Ottavio Quattrochi?.....
