After the mess created by IPL I’d thought of moving on but the arrogance of Dhoni has made me revisit this issue. The man’s previous successes seem to have gone to his head. It was downright insulting to hear him smile and say that he didn’t care for people protesting against him in the streets. May I remind him that these are same people who were on the streets for more than six hours in Mumbai to welcome him and his team when they won the T20 World Cup. And at that time this guy lapped it all up. If he and his team deserved to be felicitated then they very well deserve to be kicked this time for having played like shagged out bunch of idiots, which they all seemed to be after all those parties and what happens after the parties. They never complained then and they can’t complain now. And no, I’m not exactly going to mind my language.

Mathematics has never really been my favorite subject and I guess BJP too doesn’t like it much. Yeah, knowing maths is not exactly a criteria for being in politics but don’t they say that politics is after all a numbers game? And if it is BJP ought to have been more clued up about the numbers they had and the numbers they didn’t before they brought in the cut motion in the Parliament. By not carrying out this basic mathematical exercise they’ve let Congress off the hook in a matter of just a couple of days. Frankly, I feel rather stupid for having written the post Let there be no doubt where I said that Congress was indeed in a tight spot at this juncture, all because BJP does not get it’s maths right.

As always, Holi brought a riot of colors not just to our lives but more importantly to our bathrooms as well. Because by the time we finished having our baths today the loos were a complete mess, as you can very well imagine. Even the soaps have become unusable. Hahaha!!! Jokes apart, on a more serious note(?) Holi, though slightly different for us from last time, was great fun nonetheless. I say different because after having moved to our new house it was no longer possible to go to our parent’s places because they are rather too far now. Instead, we got together with all our friends and had a blast. All of us assembled in a swimming pool and as you can guess most of us got wet

Getting into a house is an experience in itself. As soon you enter the new house you feel you are intruding into someone else’s domain, as there are still some tell tale signs of the previous occupant. Everything about the house is new and unknown and you look at everything very critically, the first few minutes. Once you move to the bedroom or the kitchen, the two most important parts of any household, your mind automatically starts visualizing where you are going to place what. And as your future bedroom or kitchen virtually appears before you, you start connecting with the house. The condition of the house is another factor which helps in connecting with it. If its neat, the connection is instant, but if on the other hand the house has been left in a shabby condition by the previous occupant, you really take time in envisioning the house as your future abode. I have been quite lucky so far to get clean houses. But then I always make it a point to leave behind a neat and clean house, whenever we shift. So I guess if we do good, somewhere in some form it comes back to you. Having seen the house and deciding to shift in was a very easy job. The real action follows after that….?????? In shifting from one house to another, one does get uprooted for a couple of days, hence the urgency to settle down into the new one.

Gatecrashing is an art or rather a scientific art. Scientific because there are rules for gatecrashing like in science and it’s an art because there is definitely a human element to it which one needs to perfect. Oh yes, I would know. I’ve done it a couple of times. A piece of cake actually if you go by the rules. I know I have this image of a very simple housewife and a blogger but I’ve had my bit of fun in life. And that’s what it was, pure fun.

When did you guys last see party MPs cutting across party lines for anything? Let me refresh your memories. It was when they asked for a pay raise for themselves. Well, they have come together again. This time they want Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) allocation to be increased from Rs 2 Crore per year to Rs 10 Crore per year. They say that they can’t achieve anything in this paltry amount. It’s far too less. I agree.

Anyone who is on TV is supposed to be famous, or so Mansie thinks. Because if they are not famous they got no business to be on TV. Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, Madeline, Power Puff Girls and Ganesha are all famous because they are on TV. Fair enough. By that analogy Mansie is a very famous girl. And we as parents of a famous girl are also supposed to be famous. Fair again.

Politicians will always be politicians. They can do anything to remain relevant to the current situation. Like our long lost ex Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mr Kalyan Singh. He has done what many would’ve said was unthinkable just a year or so ago. From a predominantly Hindu nationalist party (the BJP) he has done an absolute about turn and has joined a party which has Muslims as it’s most important support base (the Samajwadi Party). Not only this the good man has gone ahead and apologized to the Muslim community for demolition of Babri Masjid (he was the CM of UP when it happened). And now all of us including the Muslims are supposed to

People should not speak when they don’t have to. Unfortunately, AR Antulay did and now he’s made to look like an absolute fool by his own party. It was bound to happen. When you are a minister in the govt you can’t shoot your mouth off the way he did when he claimed that there was a doubt in the way Hemant Karkare died.

Maybe even put inside the jail. This man has gone overboard. It seems that Maharashtra belongs to him and his stupid party. How can anyone dare do this to us? Are the people from other states who are residing in Maharashtra not Indians? Has Article 370 been imposed in the state or what? It seems that Vilasrao Deshmukh is scared of this man.

Okay, of all the TV networks which one was the best debate on match fixing? Well, for me it was the one on Times Now where our dear old Bishen Singh Bedi appeared half drunk. At first it seemed like I was mistaken but when he started talking I was more than convinced that he was indeed three or four drinks down, at least. A couple of drinks more and I'm sure Bedi would've told Arnab Goswami," Oye, Chadd Yaar. Tainu Kee? Aye koi nai gall thodi hai. Salon se ho raya hega. CHEERS!!" or words to that effect. But you can't really blame Bedi for this. What do you expect people to be doing at nine in the evening? Good people work through the day and party in the evenings. Don't they? For that matter, Farouq Engineer who was speaking from Manchester, UK where it was around four thirty in the evening, was seen having a huge cup of coffee (or at least that's my guess) because you are supposed to have coffee at that time......
