The Sri Lankan election results don’t really change anything for the Tamils 300,000 of whom are still languishing in camps. Rajapakse has been non committal on the specifics of future course on this issue though he does keep making politically correct statements like rehabilitation of Tamils is being done on priority and that he will continue to do so. But will anything really change for the these people now that he has won the elections? Quite unlikely. If he didn’t do it in the run upto the elections based on which he could’ve sought their votes it would be rather stupid for anyone to expect him to do so now when he doesn’t really need their support. Well, to be candid, he didn’t really need their support before the elections either as the results have proved beyond doubt whose support is actually required to come to office. And it’s not Tamils.

This guy has been jailed for twenty years for writing articles against the Sri Lankan govt! I mean I thought we lived in a civilized world. And in a civilized world these kind of things don’t happen. People have rights and are treated fairly in such places. But I guess Sri Lanka is yet to reach there. According to them writing articles espousing rights of Tamils is as good as sedition and terrorism. Actually, the trial of this gentleman smacked of arrogance and vindictiveness on the part of the govt. What a god damned state of affairs!

When I wrote this post Why did Prabhakaran die on 18 May? I did not know that it will generate so much of interest. But it did. Some for good and some for bad reasons too. I’m not sure why but few Tamils (I think so) got this impression that I was against them and their cause in Sri Lanka. So much so that someone wrote lousy stuff in their comments(in Tamil) which was brought to my notice by one of the readers

Yeah, killing of Prabhakaran on 18 May is not incidental. It was planned by Sonia Gandhi. Yeah, you got that right. It was planned by Sonia Gandhi and executed by Sri Lankans. It is quite clear that she had asked the Sri Lankans to go slow till such time the results in India were declared.

It was Vaiko who started it all by saying that there will be bloodbath in Tamil Nadu if Prabhakaran was killed. He went on to add “here we have people who can get bombs (referring to Tamils in Tamil Nadu).” Believe it or not he also added in the same breath “India would not remain one country” if Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa did not stop the war

They say that you can’t change your neighbors. They also say that if your neighbors are developing so will you and if they are peaceful so will you be. But unfortunately, in India’s case they are anything but peaceful. Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and now Bangladesh are all burning. When the fires burning in these countries are so strong and fierce how can India remain unaffected by all this? It surely has spilled over pretty fast and is now threatening to consume India as well.

Who elected Vaiko and the likes of Kanimozhi (daughter of Karunanidhi) as Members of Parliament? It was the people of Tamil Nadu who elected these guys.
Why are these people quitting? There is no clear answer to this question but my guess is that possibly all these guys care more for Tamils of Sri Lanka than those in Tamil Nadu.

Out of hundreds of allegations of fake encounter deaths why is the focus of our entire nation on Sohrabuddin and Amit Shah? Is it because a fake encounter of a Muslim is a different story than that of a Hindu? And that too because it happened in Narendra Modi's Gujarat? Why is the CBI investigating only this case and not so many others where the guilty are quite likely from the Congress party? What about numerous allegations of fake encounters in Andhra Pradesh? What about the prosecution of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar in Sikh riots case? What about Ottavio Quattrochi?.....
