US double speak

Yes, US is doing doublespeak. I just saw Condoleeza Rice speaking to the Indian media. What emerged was the usual rhetoric which we have heard from US in the past that Pak must help India and that they have promised to do so. She also said that she is quite convinced that they will. She did not go into any further detail saying that the ‘terrorists should not know that we know’. That’s what is called utter non sense. Haven’t we heard the same crap before? Don’t you guys remember Tony Blair doing this on behalf of George Bush when our Parliament was attacked? They don’t care. All they care about is that their own operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan should not get jeopardised because of all this. And they will if Pak pulls out troops from that area to counter any Indian threat which may develop as a result of these attacks.
There is something else which she said. She said ‘prevention of any more attacks is more important than punishing the guilty for the previous ones’. That’s what I call DOUBLESPEAK. Why do I say this? Isn’t it all too clear? I’ll amplify. The Americans do not want India and Pakistan to get nasty with each other. Because if they do then in that case, firstly Pakistan will redeploy it’s troops from Afghan-Pak border. Secondly, Pakistan will surely lose badly and that will be a tremendous loss of face for America as they are it’s allies. Thirdly and most importantly, the nukes of Pak may get into wrong hands. If that happens then we can be rest assured that US will be the first country these terrorists bomb. And that is something which they cannot accept. So what do they do? How do they assuage the Indians who are damn agitated right now? They can do this by telling India to calm down and work to PREVENT any such attacks in future. And that that they will extend all possible help to us to ensure this. The FBI is infact here for this purpose only. The US doesn’t need to ascertain who was responsible for these attacks? They know that it was Pakistan only. Maybe not the govt of Pakistan themselves but hardliners within Pakistan for sure. And ISI too (the govt and ISI in Pakistan are two different things). And so they do what is best for them at this moment. Divert our attention from Pakistan and work on prevention of such attacks. That way they feel both India and Pak will be happy and their interests will also be looked after.
Can we put Obama in the chair before 29th Jan 09? Gawd, I miss him already. He has said unequivocally that India has a right to defend itself. But he’s a Democrat and not a seasoned politician as yet. Or is he?

Yeah, initially it looked like these guys are serious about our situation, but now it appears that all that they want is that India must not attack Pak at any cost. Indian govt also is in a fix now. Public sentiment is against them but they can't do much, although they can bomb the ISI headquaters. But will they do it? I very much doubt it.
