Vacation begins here in Port Blair

April 11th, 2009
Ready for a take off?

Ready for a take off?

Yes, I’m off for a holiday to Port Blair in the Andaman Islands. For the last few years a holiday for us meant going to our parent’s place in Gurgaon and Delhi but now since we are staying in Delhi and manage to meet them on every other weekend or so, we could now plan on a real holiday where no relatives were around. I say this because it was kind of expected of us to come and meet our parents during our holidays and we did that and that only. And so it’s been quite a while since we last went on a real holiday. Actually, it was Manish who suggested that we go to Andamans. Initially, I’ll admit that I was a bit apprehensive as I did not know much about the place but then I said why not? It’s an island and so it must have beaches. Do I need more? Nah!! Sea, beach and sea food is all that I wanted. Yeah, I was more than ready from then on.

Well, planning to come to Port Blair is one thing and actually reaching there was quite another. It took a change of planes from Kolkata to reach there. And mind you, change of planes meant that we had to stay over night at Kolkata as the flight to Port Blair was at 7.00 am in the morning. That picture above is while we were checking in at Kolkata airport at 6.00 am. Can you imagine how we must’ve managed to reach there, what with two small kids and all that baggage (we had two huge suitcases and three small bags- yeah, you can see some of it in the picture), at such an unearthly hour? But we did and as you can see in the picture I’m rather happy about it.

Off course, Mansie was the happiest person on earth

Off course, Mansie was the happiest person on earth

Though Mansie was excited, Aleena on the other hand was a different story altogether. Why on earth did she have to be woken up so early in the morning, why were mommy and papa rushing through everything and why does Mansie have this stupid grin on her face all the time? As long as she got her milk and fruit juice at the right time she couldn’t care less.

What's the whole ruckus about?

What's the whole ruckus about?

As for me, I was more than happy to be away from the daily grind, even if it meant getting up at odd hours on a couple of occasions. Wouldn’t you be?

Well, if you believe Stephen Hawking our universe came into being out of nothing. He clearly states that God did not create this universe. It was GRAVITY which did. Therefore by extension, if God did not create this universe he possibly couldn't be controlling it. Also, since all of us are living in this universe which is not controlled by God, if you believe Stephen Hawking, he possibly could not have created us either. Or in other words what Hawking is implying is that there is no God at all. Or worse, GRAVITY is the new God, again if you believe Hawking that is......
